Welcome Fiber Artists

THANK YOU for visiting the page to check out our upcoming retreats.

On This page you will find information about the December 2025 Indigo Dye Retreat at Murdock Farm. This is a gathering of MAKERS & CREATIVES who are ready to embark on a journey in natural dyeing, in an amazing and tranquil farm setting.
December 19 – 21, 2025
This is an INTIMATE RETREAT EXPERIENCE where we work to limit each class to 6 students per day.
It’s a simple thing, really — we throw some clothes in a suitcase, blow a kiss to our loved ones and head to the farm. We know our gathering will be unique and take pride in creating a space that includes time for play and creative self-expression, space for reflection, a chance to create lasting friendships, and the privilege to experience a most exquisite place in the natural world.

And of course, don’t forget the EXTRAS including walking through our tranquil and beautiful gardens, fishing in the pond, fun make & takes, mix-and-stitch circles, and conversations about all things fiber.

Why Love is a Verb retreats?

The short version is rather simple — creativity is abundant. The farm offers a beautiful and tranquil setting that is perfect for creativity and relaxation. The on-site dye flower gardens provide a picturesque backdrop and a source of natural dye materials, ensuring that you have everything you need for an amazing experience.
Murdock Farm is fully stocked with natural dye plants, including Indigo, so you won’t have to worry about bringing anything with you. The retreat provides sewing machines, fabric, and instruction, making it easy for you to focus on your projects and enjoy the process. The intimate retreat experience is designed to foster creativity, self-expression, and lasting friendships, all while being surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Additionally, the farm offers various extras such as walking through the gardens, fishing in the pond, fun make & takes, mix-and-stitch circles, and engaging conversations about all things fiber. This combination of a serene environment, comprehensive resources, and a supportive community makes Murdock Farm an ideal choice for your dyeing and sewing retreat.

Why Murdock Farm?

In 2009, the Permanent Boyfriend and I made our way from Central to North Central Florida, to an amazing property that fit our vision for the final years of our life. A beautiful home, a large “pond” (it is 3 acres), and the ability to make our land a living garden, sustainable for us, our family and our community. Needless to say, it was life changing for us both. It’s still hard to describe the experience we had. It was a unique journey that afforded us the time to create, contemplate, and reflect. We make beautiful relationships that we are sure will last a lifetime.

It is both an honor and a privilege to spend time in such an exquisite place and to be given the opportunity, and responsibility, to preserve a way of life that is quickly disappearing. We love having the energy of the natural world all around us. And with the same energy, we welcome you to take part in our journey.
